Well the kids are back to school and the evenings are getting cooler. Time to consider what to do. Do you keep the swimming pool running or close down. We do have some balmy evenings through September and our norm is to keep the pool open until half term at the end of October. Still warm enough to sit out and to B B Q, so the pool remains the focal point of the garden. Kept clear and clean it gives a certain ambiance to an evening with friends, with the underwater light creating patterns on the ripples. We have clients that run the pool all winter as a feature and others that actually swim all year. Mr V said to me  “John, I have worked out what it would cost me to enclose this pool and that money will buy me an awful lot of gas. ” His family swam every day including Christmas Day.  So go take a walk up the garden, test and treat the pool, fish out the few leaves and odd twigs and then say you still want to close it now. Bet you don’t.
